OINP Employer Job Offer: International Student stream
Ontario has recently revamped its Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) Employer Job Offer: International Student stream, expanding eligibility for applicants who hold a one-year college graduate certificate. Formerly, eligibility required completion of a one-year program with degree admission requirements. The change broadens the scope to include any one-year college program granting an Ontario College Graduate Certificate, effective from January 1st, 2024.
The OINP Employer Job Offer: International Student stream offers a pathway to permanent residence for international students with a job offer in an eligible skilled occupation in Ontario. The eligible occupations fall under Type/Level 0, A, or B according to Canada’s National Occupational Classification (NOC). Applicants must meet various criteria, including submitting an Employer Form completed by their Ontario employer.
Upon approval and receiving an Ontario provincial nomination, nominees can apply for a work permit and Canadian permanent residence with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). To qualify, candidates must have specific education credentials, such as an undergraduate degree, graduate degree, or eligible certificates from an Ontario institution.

Applicants need an approved full-time job offer in a skilled occupation, appropriate licensure, and must demonstrate their intention to reside in Ontario. Maintaining legal status in Ontario during the application period is crucial for those residing in Canada. Connections to Ontario can be established through employment, education, volunteer work, property ownership, family ties, and more.
These changes aim to provide a more inclusive approach for international students seeking permanent residency in Ontario, expanding opportunities and streamlining the application process.
