IRCC’s Vision for Enhanced Settlement Programs
As part of its commitment to providing high-quality services to newcomers and refugees, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is set to launch a Call for Proposals (CFP) in 2024 for the Settlement and Resettlement Assistance programs, extending services for an additional five years. The application period commenced on November 14th, 2023, and will conclude on January 31st, 2024. The funding for CFP 2024 is going to start on April 1, 2025, with eligible projects potentially receiving funding until March 31, 2030.
IRCC’s priorities for CFP 2024, informed by national consultations involving over 1,300 partners and stakeholders, focus on increasing consistency in service delivery, promoting collaboration with other levels of government, enhancing the capacity of community partners, and ensuring flexibility to adapt to client needs and regional variations. The call for proposals encompasses four dedicated streams: Resettlement Assistance Program, Francophone Integration Pathway, Equity (capacity building), and Service Delivery Improvement. These initiatives aim to expand and consolidate services, support French-speaking clients, foster inclusivity, and advance digital and hybrid service delivery methods, marking a crucial step in improving settlement services across Canada.
IRCC allocates approximately $2 billion annually for settlement services, encompassing programs and support for the settlement and integration of eligible individuals. The CFP 2024 represents a strategic move to advance these objectives, emphasizing innovation, inclusivity, and responsiveness to diverse newcomer needs.
