The Province of Manitoba supports skilled immigrants to run a business through their Entrepreneur pathway under the PNP program. Successful applicants may receive 600 additional CSR points for the Express Entry application.
The entrepreneur pathway allows the province to recruit and nominate eligible foreigners to move to Manitoba and start their own business under a temporary work permit. After two years of establishing their Canadian company, entrepreneurs can apply for permanent residency. Manitoba is a medium-size province with employment and business opportunities for newcomers to succeed.
Manitoba Entrepreneur Immigration Application process:
Make sure you comply with the minimum eligibility requirements and determine your ranking score under the Entrepreneur Pathway. Minimum requirements are:
- Business Experience: At least 3 years of full-time work experience as a business owner or senior management at a successful business.
- Net Worth: Minimum of CAD 500,000.
- Languages Proficient: Minimum CLB 5.
- Education: Minimum Canadian high school certificate equivalent.
- Business Concept Form.
- Self-Assessment Form.
- MPNP Code of Conduct.
Pay your fee and submit your complete application.
Pay the processing fee of CAD 2,500.00 when applying the MPNP. Processing fees are not refundable.
Assessment of Your Application
A complete application will be assigned to a Business Immigration Officer (BIO) for full assessment. You may be invited to attend an interview during the evaluation.
- Establish your business and fulfill the BPA
You also have to submit Progress Reports to the MPNP: the first should be after six months of your arrival and the final no later than 20 months after.
Eligibility for Manitoba Entrepreneur Immigration:
- Have at least three years of full-time work experience or have been a senior manager of a successful business.
- The language proficiency level of CLB 5.
- Have at least a high school certificate.
- A minimum investment of CAD 250,000 for a business located in the Manitoba Capital Region.
- A minimum investment of CAD 150,000 for a business located outside of the Manitoba Capital Region.
- Business Research Visit: Must take place no more than one year before the submission of an EOI.
- Have a business plan
- Have a personal asset of at least CAD 500,000. A verification report must be submitted to the MPNP within 120 days of receiving a Letter of Advice to Apply.
- After the application is approved, a Business Performance Agreement (BPA) must be signed, issuing an applicant a letter of support for applying for a work permit.
Business requirements :
- The minimum investment is CAD 250,000 for businesses located in the Manitoba Capital Region and CAD 150,000 if a business is located outside of it.
- Business investment must be made in an eligible business defined by the province.
- The proposed business must create or maintain at least one job for a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident in Manitoba.
