Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted its first occupation-specific Express Entry draw on June 28, 2023. During this draw, IRCC issued 500 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to candidates employed in healthcare occupations. The minimum score required to qualify in round #252 was 476 points. The tie-breaking rule for this round was based on the date and time of November 12, 2022, at 12:47:27 UTC. As of June 28, 2023, the Express Entry pool had a total of 220,003 registered profiles. Also, IRCC has scheduled another Express Entry draw specifically for healthcare workers on July 5, 2023. Throughout the year, Canada has issued a total of 59,548 ITAs through the Express Entry draws.
This marks the very first category-based selection draw following the announcement of the six new categories on May 31. Another round, inviting 1,500 workers to apply, is scheduled for July 5. Additionally, a draw targeting eligible candidates from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields is anticipated to take place during the same week.
